They are primitive, Zixar said confidently, his long tentacles waving toward the holographic image of Earth, but their bodies are strong, their emotions make them easy to control, they will serve well. The entire chamber broke into applause, every alien race from the crystal-bodied Quarrat to the gaseous netherim voted in favor. In less than a year humans were spread across 47 star systems, working in mines on construction sites and in alien factories. They thought emotions made humans weak, never realizing that emotion was the very thing that made them dangerous. Humans learned fast how to fly alien ships, hack alien systems and turn their captors' technology into weapons.

Every ship, every signal, every planet within the galactic core obeyed their authority. Commander Rex Voron sat aboard his flagships' aphorian as it drifted through the quiet edges of Imperial space. No transponder, no data, no warp trail. Rex watched in disbelief as the object flashed across the void and disappeared behind a nearby moon faster than anything the Empire had ever recorded. Its hull swallowed light, stars bending around its edges, ancient markings glowed faintly across its black surface.

So when the council secretly approved a military strike against Earth's outer colonies, claiming it was for resource balance, they didn't expect a real fight. No follow-ups, no negotiations, Earth went completely silent. Council warships jumped into safe zones only to find Earth drones already waiting. The galaxy watched in shock as human fleets appeared over once invincible council worlds, not to destroy, but to watch. They remember when the council finally offered reparations, Earth said nothing.

But when the Council turned its gaze upon us with fire, when their warships darkened our skies, and their soldiers desecrated our colonies, they made the greatest mistake in their long history. From the depths of space, our ships rose not beautiful, not elegant, but relentless. Orbital strikes fell like thunderbolts, cracking their shields and burning their cities. At last, the surviving council gathered, the chamber that once roared with arrogance now sat in silence, faces that once mocked us now stared with fear. He stood before them and said, you came to erase us, now you understand, humanity does not vanish.

The Terran defense council gathered in emergency session, General Marcus Webb sat stone-faced, reading the casualty reports, his jaw-locked tight, the politicians debated endlessly, suggesting another round of diplomatic protests, another stern letter to the Galactic Assembly. Humanity would answer violence with strength, a single transmission was broadcast to war or jocks of the Corinthians, translated into every language in the galaxy. Tanaka sent one last message to the Corinthian homeworld, your fleet is gone, your warlord is dead, you have 24 hours to surrender unconditionally, or we turn your planet into trouble. The Corinthian government surrendered in only six hours, across the galaxy, the footage spread, races that had seen humans as soft and naive realized the truth. Human courtesy wasn't weakness, it was a gift, and if you forced them to take it back, you would see what happened when the most dangerous predators in the galaxy stopped pretending to be civilized.

The Galactic Council had declared humanity insignificant, a fragile species destined to obeyed. But when the alien coalition struck at Earth's colonies, they woke something far older and far more dangerous than they imagined. Humanity did not beg, humanity did not surrender. In less than a week, the sky above three alien homeworlds turned into fire, as human fleets unleashed weapons the council had only seen in forbidden archives. When humanity's ambassador finally entered the chamber, there was no applause, no resistance, only silence.

When their scouts finally stumbled upon Earth, a small blue planet orbiting an ordinary star, they saw nothing but another primitive world ready to be conquered. Kanet adjusted his armour, activated the broadcast, and his image spread across every screen on Earth. His words translated into every human language, people of Earth, he declared, I am Commander Kanet of the Zephalon Empire. Kanet's translator implied detected tones it rarely encountered, sadness, sympathy, and unmistakably, pity, hours later, Earth sent their reply. You see, Commander Kanet, Earth is not a paradise, it's a death world.
